Tish Smith – Biography
I love nature and it brings great joy to be able to express that love on canvas as landscapes gardens, flowers, animals and birds.
“My intention is to speak to the viewer of the life and beauty of creation”

I was born in Bermuda, later moving to the scenic landscapes of Moncton, New Brunswick.
As a young child, I was motivated to sketch, which later blossomed into an artistic career.

Upon graduating in 1988 from the Graphic Design program at Algonquin College in Ottawa I worked in the Art department of a Design firm, creating logos and doing graphics.
Then, the painting of commissioned portraits further helped to develop my career.

I was represented by Koyman’s Gallery in Ottawa where 25 of my paintings were sold.
One painting entitled “Market flowers” was published in the International Artists publication “One hundred ways to paints flowers and gardens”

Venues: Art in the Park, International Tulip Festival, (Ottawa).  Art Square Gallery (Toronto), Skylark Gallery & D-Fine Arts (Bolton),  Heron Bay Gallery ( New Brunswick),  Kleinburg Art Walk.
I have taken courses with Douglas Purdon and
Aili Kurtis in Ottawa, and Greg Hindle in Toronto.
